Welcome to Stranded!, my Strand Magazine-based April A to Z Blogging Challenge! In this challenge, I will be taking illustrations from The Strand Magazine and making new stories out of them. So, in order to fully appreciate the Stirring Events eventuating here, a look back at my older A TO Z entries is advisable. I promise you, they are short. Click Here to start with my Theme Reveal, or Click Here to start with A! It is also totally acceptable to just look at today’s post.
I have only one panel for you today, the latest installment of Alfie’s narrative. I may add more to this page later– but I have just made a Disturbing Discovery. It is, in fact, Tax Day over here. It is, of course, very wicked of these Tax Days to sneak up on honest (though inattentive) citizens, but They Will Do It. In fact, they have done it. Anyway, I have some last-minute filing to do. Until tomorrow (or, possibly, later today), then– adieu!
Alfie is dying??? NOOOOOO!!!!!

The Old Shelter – 1940s Film Noir
Yes, it is dreadful, isn’t it? We shall see if it is true…
Alfie is always on the verge of dying. That boy can’t stay out of trouble. I’d be worked about a visit anywhere near that Sneakfork character. He sounds like trouble.
Discarded Darlings – Jean Davis, Speculative Fiction Writer, A to Z: Editing Fiction
Trouble indeed!
Oh the poor man. A trip to the country, dreadful.
If it’s any consolation, I imagine that at the rate Oswin works and travels, Alfie will be dead by the time he reaches them anyway. That will save on the paperwork.
This is true! Oswin, in fact, could just realize that he will be too slow to save Alfie, and therefore reason that staying in London is really the most efficient thing he could do.
