Found Poetry/Digital Ephemera/Spam Messages
I receive a fair amount of spam on my blog. The ones that get through my filter are all lovingly read, and occasionally I re-set one into a poem.
Below is my favorite example of spam/found poetry (“O My Viagra, My New-Found-Land!”). You can read it, or listen to me reading it aloud (which I think I do pretty well).
I have altered the message only in the following ways:
- I have broken it up into lines (it came in one gigantic blob of text), in order to emphasize the meaning I see in it.
- I have replaced various product links with [CLICK HERE]
- I have given it a title- or, rather, I have pinched a title from the poet John Dunne.
