No A To Z This Year

I thought I was going to do an A to Z this year. I even had a draft. It was… fine. But just fine. Kind of boring, really.

And I was going to do it anyway.

Then I was sitting at the dining room table, eating breakfast, and lamenting the flatness of my draft, when Alec (my boyfriend) pointed out that I don’t actually have to do an A to Z at all this year.

“You seem miserable about it,” he said. “And you’re covering material you’ve covered before. Do you really want to spend a month on this?”

And I was like, well—of course I have to…

Or… actually…

I know I barely ever post, and the A to Z Challenge has become my way of keeping this site alive-ish. But I’ve never been very consistent here—this has always been more of a project space than a regularly-updated blog. 

So I’m skipping it this year. The idea just isn’t fun enough, and I don’t feel like forcing it.

No promises about next year (I never keep them anyway), but I’m hoping to come back with something genuinely entertaining.

In the meantime, for the record, here is the best part of this year’s attempt—the header I was going to use. Honestly, it may be the funniest thing I came up with.
