“Lady Ermyntrude’s Scrapbook”

Lady E, society darling and nosy-parker of yesteryear, was known to keep Secret Scrapbooks of all of her cases.  “Not so much The Documents in the Case,” Lady E. once confided to her dear friend, the Hon. Henrietta Witherface, “more a way of thinking on paper.”

It was thought that all of these precious records had been destroyed in a fire.

A Discovery In An Attic

Lord G., grandson of Lady E., found One Of His Grandmother’s Scrap-Books in a Dusty Trunk in The Attic of Rustbucket Court, Historical Home of the Illustrious Family into which Lady E. married.  He does not see how publication of “a bunch of advertisements, pages torn out of works of reference, and other assorted miscellany” could hurt the reputation of either the living or the dead; he has therefore Graciously Consented to allow Atherton’s Magic Vapour to put the contents of the Scrapbook before the Public.
