B is for Between You and Me

B is for Between You and Me

Welcome to Stranded!, my The Strand Magazine-based April A to Z Blogging Challenge!  In this challenge, I will be taking illustrations from The Strand Magazine and making new stories out of them.  So, in order to fully appreciate the Stirring Events eventuating here, a look back at my older entries is advisable.  I promise you, they are short.  And, I hope, entertaining.

This is a continuation of Alfie’s story from A is for Annabelle and Alfie.  In order to discover what next happens to Annabelle (and, indeed, what further Horrors shall be visited upon the hapless Alfie), visit again soon!

By the way, I am color-coding (or colour-coding) these installments.  So far, we have purple for Annabelle and green for Alfie (though admittedly in this installment the green does not show up all that well).  I do intend to start new stories, as well as continue the old ones, during this A to Z, so perhaps we will have a veritable Rainbow of Intertwining Narratives by May 1st.  We shall see.

Also!  The image I used today is from The Strand Magazine No. 98, published in 1899.

  1. You mean the illustration you use were truly published in The Strand?
What was the story this illustration was published with? That’s the weirdest thing.

    • Hey Sara! Yes, truly 🙂 this particular picture is from a regular or semi-regular feature of The Strand called From Behind The Speaker’s Chair. It appears to be devoted to Parliamentary history, gossip, news, and caricatures of noted politicians of the day.

  2. I’m eager to discover the intertwining rainbow of your story.

  3. Oh dear. Sounds like Alfie’s prone to Embellishments.
